Saltwater Church is a member of Sound Alliance, a civic organizing network of more than 25 faith-based, labor and education organizations working toward the common good in the Puget Sound region. Sound Alliance has sponsored trainings to help us learn to put the power of community into action for the greater good, and to acknowledge the experience and history of our indigenous neighbors through their Wrestling with the Truth of Colonization program.

We’ve worked with Sound Alliance partners to flip the upside-down state tax code right-side up making it more equitable, to ensure that K-12 education is fully funded without taking away funding for human services and higher education. We’ve also worked to protect immigrant families from unwarranted and inhumane deportations. Our current focus is on holding our elected officials accountable for implementing the Crisis Care Centers levy we helped get passed.

Check out the Sound Alliance website to learn more and join Saltwater’s Sound Alliance Team in the Church Zoom Room on the second Saturday of the month from 10-11:30am.
