Rental of our Building
Welcome to Saltwater Unitarian Universalist Church! We are in Des Moines, close to Saltwater State Park. We are not renting our buildings at this time as we observe safe practices to help slow the pandemic.
Read our newsletter for the most up to date information about reopening our facilities. Once the pandemic has resolved, or appears manageable, we hope to be available for event rentals. Check back in the summer of 2022.
Our campus and buildings are perfect for weddings, memorials, parties, meetings, and other events. Groups who currently share our facilities include Bet Chaverim Synagogue, Forest Kinderland Outdoor Preschool, Haitian Christian United Church, and Planting Flowers Learning Center.

Fees are for 0 – 4 hours. For events longer than four hours, rooms may be rented at a pro-rated hourly rate (for example, $50 per hour for the main facility.
Members pay no fee to rent the facility for Rites of Passage and 50% of regular rates for other events.
Our main facility has a sanctuary with a garden view, a kitchen, a second large room (the Welcoming Room) and bathrooms. The sanctuary can hold 120 people. The church office has two meeting rooms, bathrooms and a kitchen. The Lighthouse has a large room, 5 classrooms and two bathrooms. The Lighthouse is not available at this time. On site is a playground, a labyrinth, and beautiful woods.
