Dr. Isabel Call, Guest Minister
The builders of the Tower of Babel sought to make something magnificent, but they were interrupted by Something Bigger, which shocked them so profoundly they could no longer speak to each other. Like them, we are often interrupted by the sudden awareness of a truth so large it can’t be explained. Scientists are beginning to think that our species is actually hard-wired for this emotional experience of awe, and that it can help us tap into our shared humanity. How do we learn to let go of our futile plans to rival the magnificence of All That Is, and turn our energy, instead, to learning a shared language of joy?
