Three pieces are of particular interest; HB 1054- Ban Violent Police Tactics, HB 1267- Mandate Statewide Independent Police Investigations, and HB 1310- Make Deadly Force A Last Resort. Our SCAN! Team also asks that you review SB 5141 Healthy Environment for All. This Act addresses racial justice, social justice and climate justice all wrapped in one. It’s what SUUC truly stands for. Thanks to your help it has passed the House of Representatives and is now before the Senate. We need to keep up the momentum. Legislators have been hearing from polluters who are trying to chip away at key elements of the bill. We need environmental justice decision-making to be guided by communities most burdened by pollution, not corporate polluters. Help empower our legislators by filling out the Take Action Form and stop the environmental health disparities that greatly impact our community.
