May 14: “Celebrating 100 Years of Flower Ceremony,” Rev. Kristen Kuriga

Join us in the annual ritual of Flower Ceremony which celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. Originally created in 1923 by Unitarian minister Norbert Čapek of Prague, Czechoslovakia, the Flower Ceremony was introduced to the United States by Rev. Mája Čapek, Norbert’s widow. This year marks the 100-year anniversary.

If you are joining us in-person, please bring a flower or flowering branch with you for our flower ceremony. If you are joining us by zoom, please also bring a flower with you that can be shared in the service in gallery view on your camera.
