“Pete’s Dragon” is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon. For years, an old wood carver has delighted local children with his tales of the dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete–a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot. Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

We’ll meet with our youth on Zoom to watch clips from the movie and discuss our understanding of spirit, and how we engage with the mysteries of life.  You are encouraged to watch the movie in advance, but it is not required for participation in the discussion.  Pete’s Dragon (2016), rated PG, is a remake of the classic Disney film, and available through several streaming services or on video.
